Ram certainly has had their share of CEL problems with their trucks... especially the diesel.
Hope you can get it resolved and get your family on that very important vacation trip.

To the OP, not sure why it would take the dealer two weeks to get a sensor in. If it were me I would call Ram and find out. Funny it only took my dealer one whole day to get me a new key fob for my truck. They ordered it Monday afternoon and called me Tuesday afternoon that they had it. Three days is the max for any in stock part that is not on back order. Just like Ford and GM FCA has parts warehouses all over the USA. The dealer can also locate the part at any dealer and have it shipped over night.

It all depends on part availability. In these days of just in time manufacturing the last thing a company wants is a mountain of parts "in stock". So, they guesstimate at the usage they will need and order them. If the part becomes a "problem" and gets high usage, then the part goes on backorder (possibly at a national level) until they can get a new production run from Asia or wherever.
This exact situation happened with the transfer case on my F250. It was on national back-order and took a month to get the new transfer case. Once the dealer had the part, they had it done by the end of the day.
