Anything with magnetics in it can have some trouble with MSW inverters, and most electronic equipment these days have switching power supplies with components sensitive to the high frequency spectrum of MSW. They will run very noticeably hotter on an MSW inverter than a SW inverter. Hotter = shorter life. Against this is the lower cost and higher efficiency of the MSW inverter. Not a clear winner, that's why there are so many of both!
