I must agree with bka0721 that Moki Dugway is a must as is The Valley of the Gods. The Valley of the Gods is far superior to Monument Valley in my opinion and the road is MUCH better. Natural Bridges and Navajo National Monument are both excellent locations.
bigfootford's thoughts on Chaco Canyon are the same as mine and I have been to both although I must admit I have only seen Canyon de Chelly from the both sides of the top. Another apparently little known site is Aztec Ruins which is not too terribly far from Chaco and is very interesting.
dadwolf2's comment on Goblin Valley is right on. I was there last spring and wandered around the Goblins which was really enjoyable. There is some BLM land nearby where we camped for the night with great sunsets and views.
The biggest problem with traveling to southern Utah and environs from my perspective is that there is too much to see and many trips are required to do it justice!
Have a great trip no matter where you end up going!
