Mold in and on sides of draws

Hi, I have a 2003 Holiday rambler TT. I just found some mold inside and on the outside of drawers for the first time and I bought it new.
Just wondering about how to clean sanitize the wood?

Should I use some lysal, spray on paper towels and wipe off
throw away?

Or mix some bleach up with water and do same thing?

If there are clothes in drawers.

Thanks for the help!

  • Thanks for the response!
I will give that a try.
Sounds like the wife want me to take the drawers out of the TT and clean them on driveway to keep over spray on rugs etc.
  • I certainly can't promise you a guarantee but I've been using it on the wood in my MH for years with no bleaching or staining problems.

It's also the only cleaner I have found that doesn't make me sneeze or go into an asthma attack. So many cleaners add a ton of perfume or add that darn dang Febreeze which is deadly to anyone with allergies.

It's really safer than bleach and water which can discolor some surfaces not to mention items around it and the carpet. Too much room for error using straight or watered down bleach around and on anything.

Just don't spray it on and walk away. I spray and wipe it off. I am allergic to mold or mildew of any kind. So my MH gets a regular dose of Clorox Clean up often. :C
  • Thanks for the response about the "Clorox Clean-Up". I looked at the descriptor for the product provided by Clorox and it stated that it is for NON pours surfaces.

Do you think that it would effect the wood, ether the finished ends or unfinished sides and interior?
  • IMHO I would not play around with straight bleach diluted or not inside your RV. JMHO

I use Clorox Cleanup. Comes in a spray bottle. I use it on everything inside the RV.Great for the shower.

Only thing is there are a ton of look a likes even within the Clorox brand that do not work and can harm surfaces.

Be sure to look for the words "Clorox Clean-Up on the label".
  • Lysol wont kill mold (try it and you'll see). Bleach will.
  • Thanks!
I think I will use the bleach...I am sanitizing the fresh water tank and already have it.

I just need to figure out how much bleach to water. Dont want to hurt the wood.
  • get a bag of shock it pool clorine in powder rub the spot or let it sit on it and it will kill any mold and remove the spot
  • Either will do the job but bleach may get rid of any dark stains
