We are in a much better position than we would be if all vehicles were 100%built in the country of their nameplate.
Where would we be if Honda,Volkswagon, BMW returned all their manufacturing to country of origin.
The beauty of "assembled" here is not the number of jobs in a particular plant. It is the ancillary and associated businesses that the plant supports. Maybe Airgas had to put n two extra trucks to support the plant,maybe Sally can employ 7 people at her diner, Maybe the local car dealers can sell several hundred cars to the factory workers with the Japanese paycheck in their pocket.
We are in a global economy and barring a world war or planetary disaster we always will be. So quitcherbitchin and appreciate what we do have.
