Most American made truck

Never thought about this much, but this is interesting reading with a few surprises. I wonder how valid the stats are............

Most American made truck
  • For 2020 I seen a article that stated the new Ford Ranger was the highest American content according to Forbes.

So where are all the parts of the vehicles made? Assembling is one thing. Assembling parts made outside of the United States doesn't really scream "Made in America" to me. It screams "Assembled in America". I'd like to know the percentage of parts that are made in america and then assembled in America for each car and truck.

    The article included the following:

"The American-Made Index considers five main factors in its ranking:

    The final assembly location
The origin of parts in the car as reported for the AALA
The origin country (or countries) for its engines
The origin country (or countries) for transmissions
The number of Americans its parent automaker employs at the factory level"

    .....feel better now?

  • My excursion was made in Canada and my fusion was made in Mexico. I couldn't pull the fusion 4 down so I traded it for a Hyundai, made in America.
  • Wow, 7 out of the top 15 are Honda/Acura, they have more invested in the US than the so-called big 3.
