Yes, being an Alaskan and owning two pick up trucks and a SUV (no cars), it's no wonder they're involved in more accidents since they account for the majority of the vehicles except maybe for the commuters from the Valley.
One of the reasons for so many trucks and SUVS up here besides winter driving conditions, is it seems like everyone is towing something: contractors, dirt bike, side x sides, 4-wheelers, track rigs, RVs, fire wood, snow machines, boats, and the list goes on.
It's interesting, but really a useless statistic just like the one stating "Most vehicle accidents happen within 20 miles of the home". Considering most of the driving is done within 20 miles of the home, the accidents have to also happen within 20 miles of the home.
