Efficient and towing are two words that don’t belong in the same sentence. To sum it up;1. GM2. Ram3. Ford (eco boost)Not sure why they wouldn’t include the Tundra and Titan.

The F150 used 91 octane fuel, making it more expensive yet. My Ram manual recommends 89 octane, so I'm assuming the new one does too, but I'm not certain. I think the GM 6.2 also recommends 91 octane. Is that correct?

I wonder if the Ford would've done better with a 3.55 rear axle vs the 3.31?

You saved money vs. what?.....
There is no savings to be had other than not towing at all.
If you tow a RV trailer fuel cost will be substantial no matter how you rationalize it.

I have no concern over my fuel economy. I just stated mine as reference. If I was overly concerned about it I wouldn't have towed my trailer close to 50000 miles now. My tow rig gets 18.5 city when not towing and about 23 on the highway empty too. Absolutely nothing to be concerned about there in my eyes. :D

All this concern over fuel economy while towing is hilarious, hand calculating , fill it to the top yada yada yada. Maybe you choose the wrong hobby, since January I've spent $2100 on fuel. My rig is a fuel hog but then I didn't buy for it's economy .

So why didn't they use the new 3.0 diesel Ford has? That surely would have been the top dog in a MPG test. The Ecodiesel comes back sometime this year (I'm hearing second quarter) than maybe TFL will test the two.

It's still mind boggling why some folks get so wrapped in "what kind of fuel 'economy' will my truck get when towing."

I guess they are afraid of the fuel cost of going on vacation and towing their RV. If they are "that concerned" about the cost, then they shouldn't be RVing to begin with. LOL
