Thanks for the feedback. There are some used Hi-Lo's available. It makes me a bit nervous to buy something that is no longer made. I wonder how hard it would be to get them worked on. Used Trainmanors seem to go at a steep discount compared to new. I discovered that I am allergic to something in new RV's, so I probably want to buy used regardless.
Look at hi-lo again, Easy to work on or any good RV repair shop should be able to work on one. They stopped production in 2010.The only differrent item is the lifting system, simple design of one hydraulic ram and 12volt pump(same as a dump truck)then it uses stainless cables to raise the top section. The set-up when you get to the campground, level the trailer, push the button to raise the top.A Pup or trailmanor are much longer in set-up time.Hi-los do have 30gal. fresh water,30gal. gray tank & 30gal. black tanks. All the appliances are the same as anyother RV. The refrigerator runs on 12volts while towing(its a 3-way refrigerator) which uses 12 amps and requires a larger charge wire from the TV so you don't run down your house batteries. When you look at hi-lo, stay with 2001-2009 this is when they switched to alumium framing. 2010 they switched to a wrap-around front window with no stone guard which I don't care for. 2005 and newer have better interior colors, thats when they got rid of the pinks and aqua greens.Stay away from the 1992 to 2000 Hi-lo Towlites, this is when they used wood framing in the walls which rots out. The classic's and early funlite models had steel framing.
I own a 2006 22ft hi-lo Towlite. This is my second hi-lo,even with the problems with my 97 towlite I had with the wood in the walls rotting,I liked the design and the eaz of towing it with the low profile I bought a second one.
They produced many differrent length's and floor models(the 27footer has a walk around bed). My 22footer wieghts 3800lbs dry and I'm towing it a toyota tacoma V6 double cab long bed which has a tow rating of 6500lbs.
I do all my own repairs and maintance on my trailer. I can help you with anyother questions you my have on hi-lo trailers.Good luck on your search.
