No matter what you will always find 'lively' discussions on this topic and a wide range of opinions. I think the most important points are:
-The dealer. There are good ones and there are really bad ones. My current RAM dealer bends over backwards to make me happy. Read as many reviews as you can on any dealership you talk to.
-The options. Learn each brand and which options you should be looking for. While I am very happy with my RAM I wish I had know to look for one with a 4.10 ratio. My next truck will also have auto leveling suspension.
If you have time to read (a lot) you can also get a general feel for owner satisfaction by reading owner forums. Here is the RAM forum.
