Generalities and mixed messages out of context
Gasser ICE's have operating RPM red lines from high 3K's up to over
16K RPMs, IIRC. Without the tranny gears, diff gears and the weight
of the vehicle (including whatever is being hauled or towed) is out
of context. It's just an engine spinning...
Not all RPMs in one ICE type, but over many from small to big, from
single cylinder to many cylinders
From very long stroke to over square
So many take one attribute...maybe a few attributes as an absolute
to all Gassers...and so out of context
Other attributes that were not taken into consideration is driver's
preference vs the bell curve of buyers.
Bottom line is that the boosters of this OEM and architecture will
see the article as confirmation of their wants/desires/etc...while
the others who like something else...not a good article at all.
Time will tell, but need to see who/what/where that fella is out there
when they claim 200K miles with no problems. An old fart who tows
a PUP out on the flats with no inclines, nor goes past 30% throttle
is NOT a good example.
