Try and show a little appreciation for those who do go out and buy the latest and greatest. If they didn't, we'd all still be riding a horse everywhere we went. I tire of this odd disgust towards people who decide to try 'new' technology and put their money where their mouth is.
Agreed. If the the naysayers had their way every time someone tried something new, we would be lucky to be driving Model A's. Whenever someone has some success, everyone else ups their game and we all benefit.

Do some research, the "Eco Boost" has been around for years, just not in the states! Ford was NOT the first one to have a direct injected turbo charged gas engine, not by a long shot. Now when Ford and GM bring out their nine and ten speed transmissions they are working on together, then you will see some real mileage out of the EB.
True but they are the first to commit to using it in vehicle designed with towing in mind.

When did they release the #'s? Cause the last word from Chrysler was that it would be more than 25, not 30. And the fact that they have not released #'s yet makes it very interesting. Perhaps the #'s are not as great as they had hoped?
Isn't it the Dept of Energy that releases the numbers after they do their testing?
