Let me address your first issue. I bought a TT that allows me to not have to worry about being close to an overweight situation. I've done the math, gone to the scales, unloaded and loaded, and assured myself that regardless of the situation I have a safe and manageable load.
Second, when going down the road I'm keenly aware of what kind of hazards drivers present to each other. I do not drive at Warp 9.9. When I tow I make an effort to not be an object of frustration to other drivers and travel generally with the traffic, even on hills. But there are situations, for example, merging onto the freeway, where it is the responsibility of the merging party to merge without disrupting the flow of traffic. That's the law by the way. So many folks, with or without a trailer, wait to accelerate at the end of the ramp, if at all, instead of the beginning, and expect you to get the hell out of their way. With my EB I'm allowed to have the TT that's large enough for my purposes but still be safe and responsible while on the road.
