Zero to sixty times are meaningless in the real world of towing. So far from what i have read and seen i am not impressed. They are OK for boulivard cruisers, but towing fuel economy is not that great and they are so limited it is useless for many of us.

That truck is heavy. Acceleration really gets bogged down at the up side....1/4 mile time "15.2 sec @ 92.1 mph"By comparison the turbo V6 in the Ford Taurus SHO is so much quicker and the driving experience is soooo much more fun. "13.7 sec @ 103.2 mph"

The EcoBoost with max towing capacities ranging from a low of 8,800 LB, to 11;300 LB. Is a great TV for that weight TT. And there are a lot more TTs in that range. And with payloads ranging from 1500 to 2600 lbs. I fail to see the Limits you speak of.Add that to the fact that, MOST of us that have 150s. Use them for daily drivers, and the non towing MPG comes into full play.

I'm not going to lie and say i haven't tried to see how well my Eco accelerated up an on ramp getting up to speed while pulling my RV(amazing!!). But i will agree that half the fun when on vacation for me is getting to are destination. I set the cruise at 62mph and being able to climb 90% of the hills i travel in 5th gear at 2200rpms is why i love my Ecoboost. With it being so quiet and smooth makes the ride that much more relaxing and enjoyable. I personally think listening to a naturally aspirated V8 constantly downshifting and screaming along at high rpms to maintain the same speed is not what i call relaxing and enjoyable.... Just my personal opinion.

Some people don't have all the time in the world to get to their location. Believe it or not, there are other people in the world besides you. A lot of people have jobs that require they arrive for their job 48-50 weeks out of the year. That leaves weekends and a short window for an extended vacation. I'd rather spend my vacation at the destination relaxed by a campfire and playing with my daughter and dogs, rather than spend my vacation stuck in traffic and driving...

Really, Cause I see no mention of the Diesel in that link. None whatsoever.

And let's see here with the #'s:
8k trailer, 800lbs tongue
Driver @ 200
2x friends @ 250
That's 1550 lbs right there.

And it's still outclassed in just about every configuration by Ford. F150 Payload
F150 Towing

I would imagine the same is true for GM in that it as better capabilities than Ram.

BTW there is a BIG difference between a "trailer" and a RV and that is why Ram suggests using a HD class truck for RV towing.

Interesting way to spin it when the capabilities are not there...

The baby Cummins is a diesel and i think it will be a force to be reckoned with! Everyone knows that Cummins builds some of the most dependable engines on the market so I highly doubt that they would put out a cheaply made motor with there name on it.

Never understood why when towing at or near max tow ratings why some gotta travel above or more then posted speed limits either? Yer suppose to be on vacation is there really a need to get to the top at Mach 1, 2, 3 or Warp 9.9? I'm givin her all shes got Captain!!!

Agree, if you haven't driven it, or better still, haven't towed with it, all arguing is moot.

Personally, the largest positive issue with me is it allows me to have a large enough TT for the spouse and me to camp/snowbird in comfort. You can spout all the numbers you want but it all boils down to having the truck do what you want in the manner you want it to.

And the power band is just something you have to experience. Getting on the freeway on ramp and punching it (with or without the TT) is AWESOME :B ! I like my EB.

I don't doubt it. I just wonder why anyone would think fuel consumption wouldn't be a big factor for many people who spend 75% of their time not towing.
