Mount a tv

My TT has a perfect sport for a small tv.

I want to mount it so that once stopped, I can swing it out and angle it when I want to watch it.

How? The ones for home do not have any locking mechanism, so it will move while in transit.

  • Mor/Ryde has a locking TV mount and we have one in the bedroom. It's very well made and has a handle at the bottom that you pull down. Our KZ TT has a mount that you have to push against the wall to lock it in place and give it a tug to unlock it. Don't particularly like it and don't know the brand.

I've seen some TT manufacturers use an ordinary articulating mount and secure it in place with Velcro straps for travelling. I did this on a previous TT. You can just use a fender washer & screw to attach the Velrco to the wall. I used plastic clips from theclip.com and you can go to a shoe store to get the Velcro sewed together at the clip end.
  • I have one of the cheapest articulating screen mounts on the back of a 32" screen. The arm is stiff enough so that I swing it into transportation alignment and forget about it. YMMV.
  • I use a web strap with a plastic buckle that clips to lock it. Its adjustable and the ends get a screw with a washer to secure the strap ends to the wall . The buckle ends clip together in front of the screen and do not scratch the screen . You could add a thin seat cushion for a lawn chair if you desire, to protect the screen .
I do it this way on all my tv's in my RV's for the last 14 years.

I have used 2 straps in vertical positions and this past time, i installed one horizontal strap on both my tv's. Both vertical and horizontal positions work. Bought the straps at Walmart in the camping section.
  • My trailer came with a TV mount that has an arm to do what you want to do. It locks in place parallel to the wall when in motion and I release the latch with a pull chain. Keep looking and you'll find such. My RV is in storage at the moment so I cannot get the manufacturers name for you right now.
  • I use a bungee cord to do exactly what you are talking about. Of course, I am sure there are more sophisticated ways of securing the tv, but I am low tech at heart. :)
