Thinking about adding a few things to the walls in the camper we bought. Mostly thinking fire extinguishers as I would like one closer to the kitchen and one in the cabover section. I would like to mount them to a wall, but don't want to end up with stripped holes and the paneling is super thin and not dense.Tips, ideas, key learning?

With a fire extingisher I would mount it on a wall stud only as the dynamic weight could be significant as you bounce down the road.A stud finder is your friend. But one of the first things I do is: On a cool morning take pictures of the condensation patterns on the outside as this is a very good indication of the stud locations.

If you find two studs and would like to locate your item between them, you can first attach a piece of wood spanning between the two studs then attach your item to that. Mounting to the side of a cabinet may also be an option. If the cabinet wall is thin you can attach some wood to the inside to beef it up.
