Moving from P'up to TT ?'s

So after the season was over here I made the leap to the TT after camping in a Pop-up. I have the basics that go along with camping life but now I am looking at a grey water tank (instead of a 5g bucket outside), a black water tank, water heater, water pump, furnace and an a/c unit that I have never had to deal with before.
I have been searching here and have started a "wish list" to aquire over the winter. A Rhino-flex sewer kit, a foam hose doughnut seal, and this nifty sewer hose / tank flush adapter are on my list.

So far that is all I can think of. I have a decent collection of C.I. cookware to go along with my fire ring tripod but now I not only have a Stove, but an Oven and even a Microwave(!)

I have a new deep cycle marine battery, twin propane tanks and new break-away switch for the brakes... those are easily tranferable from the P-up to the TT.

I have a Curt proportional brake controller on my TV and a Weight Distribution hitch sized for my weights already on the way.
Is there any esentials that I may be over looking? Because I have been "roughing it" I have a grasp on what camping is all about but a list of new items I may need for my new upgraded camping life style would help.

X2 Where and what kind of RVing you do dictates what kind of equipment you might need.
  • I put together a separate tool box just for the TT. Screwdrivers, socket set, pliers, electrical tape, wire strippers, super glue, ect. My TT is only a year old but I have needed these tools at different points in the season. Also a 3/4 inch socket for your cordless drill for the stab jacks if yours are manual. There will always be more stuff you want for the TT, this forum has givien me so great ideas.

You probably have a bigger fridge..... so more beer

    YES!!!
    Silly me... :)
  • That was QUICK! I have a fresh water hose, actually 2 because we camped once at a CG that the connection was 20' away. A pressure regulator as well.
Leveling blocks were always a few pieces of 2X8's with wood blocks for chocks, those a needed on a P-up as well. I am looking at a set of lynx blocks and their chocks now.

Usually camp at CG's with full hook-up. (30A and water) We have Boon-docked on a few occaisions.
  • Chocks, one for each wheel, or get Roto-Chocks, or both. Always chock your camper tires .... even on level ground, camping or not camping. Even a rock, stone, or brick... anything. But keep it chocked all the time.
  • Much of what you may get depends on if you intend to "go soft", as compared to your popup, and camp mostly with hookups! ;-)

We boondock, so we went with all LED lighting to save batteries, and installed a 100w solar panel.

You will likely want a Blue Tote for black and gray contents, so you don't have to move the TT if you fill those tanks before you are ready to leave.

Other than that, you likely are pretty-well set, since you have been trailer-camping already.

    Enjoy your new trailer!

  • Levelling blocks
Fresh water hose and pressure regulator
If you get the Rhino kit you shouldn't need a donut.
Cheap azz me, I use a sewer cap with a hose nipple on it and a recycled washing machine hose (F-F ends) for a backflush solution. I believe my toilet wand works better though.
