Would just note that you mentioned a diesel. If you are not towing any of the big 3 gas engines have more than enough power to handle a truck camper. They also give you much more payload capacity (diesels are heavy). In the case of my F350 DRW the diesel was almost a 1000 pound reduction in payload capacity.
