Moving over to the TT side of the world

Signed the deal today for a factory order of a Keystone Outback Terrain 250TRS. Not sure if it will be delivered as 2014 or 2015 yet. We purchased our HTT 9 years ago and this forum has been a great asset. We will miss the HTT but it's time to move on. I am going to sell the HTT on my own due to the low trade in offer. I have kept the HTT in great shape and believe it will sell quick.

Our new unit has the rear King slide bed so it is still an "expandable" but not a hybrid depending on who you ask!

Not our unit but same model
  • That camper looks great. I like all of the cabinets, outside storage, pass on the outdoor kitchen, and love the bathroom. The rear bed may get cold, and I have seen some posts regarding condensation problems under the mattress.

    Congrats, Gaffer!

if they just made a rear hard slide that didn't have bunk beds and used the extra space for more counterspace or bigger living area, we might be interested in one.

You could always remove the bunks and install some cabinets/storage yourself. :D
  • Congrats on your new Outback. You'll love it more and more and more with each passing minute! We absolutely love ours. It's by far the best TT we've had so far, in many more ways than one.

Here's a Link to the Outbacker.com web site forum. Lots of good discussion there specific to the Outback camper only. I've done my share of reading there too.

Once again, Congrats on your new camper! Happy camping! See ya 'down the road!' Here's a photo of ours.

  • Gaffer, we also purchased our 250TRS following our ever-so-brief life with our Aerolite 174es HTT. As much as we liked the HTT, it was just the wrong fit for us as a family. I highly recommend HTTs and think they make a great option for families who really want to experience the best of both the tent and trailer worlds. We are taking ours out again this weeked to the beach...that is something we wouldn't have really attempted with our HTT during the cold and rain. The TT opens us up to camping at times we wouldn't have considered and that is its greatest benefit (besides the space we have in the 250TRS).

  • Congratulations! Outback makes an great trailer. We had our first HTT for 10 years, and now we have our second HTT. Everyone has their preferences, and that's what makes it fun.
  • Welcome to the "dark side," Gaffer! You will love the change - we sure have (we've been in a TT for 6 years now, twice as long as we had our HTT.) Looks like a nice unit. Enjoy!
  • Nice looking rig, hope you build as many great memories as you did with your Hybrid TT. All the slides are hard-sided thus it's a TT, not sure why someone would deem it a HTT. Love that rear slideout, if we ever purchase another rig it will definitely have a king bed. Happy Camping!!!
