Moving trailer for wheels

Are trailer has been parked and winterized since November 2. Is it beneficial to tow it a mile or so or just move it on the pad so tired are not sitting on the same spot till April

  • Have had six trailers. They all have sat all winter without moving. I do not see dealers moving trailers around in winter. I would just put tire covers on and forget about it until spring.
  • Probably not a bad idea, but I've never heard of anyone doing that. For several reasons, I wouldn't bother. Just make sure the tires are fully aired up, covered if possible and not worry about it.
In northern CA, we use our TT even in the winter months as often as we can, so for me it wouldn't matter too much anyway.
  • Yes, there is benefit to running tires, but in Winter time, I don't. The salted streets and getting all messed up is not worth it. I'd just keep tires aired to sidewall max, and wait till April.

  • Once our rig is parked for the winter it is not moved at all until spring. Have used this procedure for years with no problems. The critical is to cover tires to prevent sun damage that occurs over time.
