Hello All!! .....very new to the "RV World" and to this site. My question is what type of company does one use in moving their 30' travel trailer when ya don't have the "means" yourself. ...the move is at minimum a two hour drive...any special "tidbits" of info I should know about in selecting a company for such a move? ....thanking you for any input you may have....have a great day, ya'all....

If you want a travel trailer you should have something to make it travel.

What you need is an RV transporter. Look them up online or ask your dealer for recommendations. The part you didn't specify is this a one time move, or do you intend to have it moved every time you want to camp? If this is a one time move I would look for somebody you know, or a friend who has a truck and hitch, to pay to move it for you. Who knows, they may even do it for a cup of coffee or something a bit stronger. :) If that is not a possibility, then check with the nearest RV dealer or campground owner who probably knows somebody who can tow it for you. I kind of doubt that a normal RV transport company will be interested in a short, one time move.Barney

When we purchased a fifth wheel and needed it moved to our park about a 50 mile move, we called a towing company. They sent out a truck and moved us for under $250.00. It was done within two hours of us taking possession of the trailer. We had several friends offer to move it for us but we went with the towing company as they were insured for such a move. Would not be able to live with myself if something had gone wrong if a friend had moved it for us and had had an accident on route.

My Inlaws had the dealer move it to their seasonal site when they purchased the trailer. I offered to tow it for them but the dealer towed their new trailer, and picked up their old trailer as a trade in.

Check with folks at the place you are going to have it set up

Make sure you have it set up exactly where and how you want it, level and all before they drive off.

Hate to be a couple days in and realize you need to make an adjustment.

If a person uses a TT at the same place for long periods of time, I don't see why they need to invest in a big tow vehicle.
Ask a dealer if he has the name of a person who is lic. to do this kind of work.

Nearly all towing companies do RB tows too. At least the non-predatory ones. Even if you are not a AAA member, they can still provide you a reference (or even connect you with) a towing provider with the proper equipment.

...thank you everyone, I should have been more specific in indicating, that my "travel trailer" would become stationary at my destination "site".....will not be using it to "travel." ....again, thank you for your input...happy "Summer Time" all....
