Jim the truck I'm looking at has the 68RFE
Nothing wrong with the 68RFE, I think they're good tranny's...your truck should be lighter than mine, so I would "think" that you would get better mpg...
Keep us posted on your mpg, especially when you start towing. Does your truck have the 5er/GN prep package? If it doesn't, you'll actually be ahead of the game..if it does, there are a couple of way's to make it work...
Enjoy the new truck...:)
It is hard to believe that a 1 ton crew cab long bed with the beefed up frame and suspension can ride as comfortably and smooth as it does. The wife loves it:B
Without the prep package all you have to do, if you want is just have a 5er hitch installed as normal...
I'm picking up the Reese drop in ball Wednesday and will probably order the Andersen hitch first of next week. Believe it'll be the cheapest route, no telling how much the adapter from Chrysler will cost, then I got to "hope" my Reese 20K signature hitch would fit ok..too many variables to wonder about...Going to hook up and tow first chance I get..
