Probably a cheap battery, a pair of 6 volt golf cart batteries would be best for you.
Many RVs have been built with the water tank vents coming off the top corner and pointed down. The water simply spills out as you travel, it is not a SIPHON. The fix is to route the vents so they exit the RV at a point well above tank level. Do not put valves on the vents, the tank will cause major damage if a check valve leaks or they are not opened when filling.
To add to the water problem, some tank outlets are on the side so that water below the outlet can not be used. The fix is to connect to the tank drain.
If you have a heat strip in the air conditioner, perhaps that explains how it functions.
