Murphy's Oil Soap - Awesome!

Hey All,

A while back I read some of you wash your campers with Murphy's oil soap and decided to give it a try. WOW! Worked so much better than the basic car wash soaps I've tried in the past. Came back from a 2 week trip and our camper was plastered with all kinds of crud, this stuff cut right through it.

Thanks!

Murphy's oil soap contains oil, how much oil is left behind to attract more crud is unknown. I like it because it cleans well and I dump a quarter cup in the holding tanks to keep the valves lubed between trips.

If you go to the Murphy’s site, they have a statement that it contains NO oil.

The MSDS states the only "regulated" ingredient > 1 percent is Sodium Hydroxide.

  • When I was a kid, my mom bought it in a big glass jar and it was like amber rubber. We use it today for just about everything. I'll have to try it for a car / RV wash.
  • I use Murphy's all the time on everything...love the way it cleans and you can't beat the smell!
  • I had no idea Murphy's could be used for RVs. I use it on my wooden furniture inside my stick house because it is very gentle. I guess it is stronger than it seems!

I once asked a sales clerk why this stuff costs so much per quart. He said, "Do you know how many Murphys we have to squeeze to get a quart?" ;)
  • I use it on my roof, and DW says it removes fingerprints from stainless steel appliances.
