I will say this, and in doing so I may be backing up on my "gut" assertion following three days of white knuckle driving: It is possible, even probable, that I had the weight distribution too tight. If that is the case, I could had transferred too much weight to the front and taken too much off the back. I did not scale the truck and I know that I should have before popping off. However, I simply believe that the truck is not heavy enough (weight-wise, not HP/Torque/Braking-wise) for the load.
I looked at the specs for that long trailer, but mines is heavier and two feet longer.
There was no way that I would be pulling around your trailer with a Max Tow. I thought about the MT before I discovered the HDPP, but only if I had a set of LT tires, replace those soft China bombs, and a set of bilsteins shocks waiting to be installed, and I was not going to get that short 5.5 ft. bed.
I wouldn't want to pull your trailer even with my truck with those soft factory China bombs.
I was in awe at how soft and pliable those tires are compared to the Goodyear Endurance. I could squeeze the beeds of the China bombs approximately 2 inches, and couldn't bulge the GYs.
