If a HDPP would solve this, then what about adding the components to make the equivalent? Heavier springs, etc? And not just LT tires, but lower profile ones with less sidewall to squirm. Easier to throw $3-$4k into this truck than to bend over at the dealership.
I am not so sure that a HDPP will solve the problem. The wind blows the truck and trailer because the truck is so light. Heavier springs or tires aren't going to help that much.
I was having issues with my max tow. I added LT tires, Super springs and Bilsteins. Squirmy P metric tires would make the truck less stable but would have nothing to do with the wind blowing it around.
I ended up buying a SD to tow with. Now one of the older steel HDPP trucks might do the truck. I would like to see someone tow with a HDPP in our Texas winds and report back. I don't expect much difference.
