My 2019 Ford F 150 towing

I bought this truck a few months ago. It has the trailer hitch 7 pin connector and on the dash, a screen for towing info. But it has no brake controller with some kind of gain control. I'm shopping for a travel trailer. What do I need?
  • You NEED to tell us your truck’s max trailer weight AND payload. Then tell us how much weight you’ll carry in the truck.
  • Check your payload sticker to see what you have to deal with. That will tell what you might want to tow.

We had a 2004 F150 and added a controller with no problem but the truck was not set up for heavier TT's. But it did fine for the smaller TT we had at the time.
  • You can get an after market brake controller, that should be a plug play, with a connection under the dash. A connecting wire harness used to come in the glove box of a new truck, that fits the under dash plug-in. Not sure, but may also be possible to get a Ford IBC installed.
