No hitch will make this easier. Practice is what you need and the help of someone directing you. My wife is great because we have developed a system that works for us. What kind of signals are immaterial as long as you both understand them.
Years ago I was trying to back my trailer into a tight spot in the back yard. My 70+ year old neighbor told me to get it started and then just "follow it into the spot.". I asked him what he meant and he told me that he couldn't explain it but that I would figure it out. I did and now understand that he was warning me not to over correct when backing. Keep practicing.
