My Jensen radio has developed a bad habit...

The model is Jensen AWM970.

Exorcism needed? :B Have the same model in my TT but no problems to date. But, electronics can certainly get weird. The OEM radio in my Ram will suddenly go to max volume without me touching any control. Can't figure out if the problem lies with the control head or the control buttons on the steering wheel, or none of the above. :h

You might try to totally disconnect from power, let it sit for a few minutes, then reconnect. This worked for me with a CD player in a truck I had.

Check to be sure the alarm isn't set...it may have gotten set by accident.

My last trailer the JENSEN radio never worked properly...Woudln't play DVD's at all..and other issues...
In my new trailer, it plays them, but seems if there is the slightest little nik in the DVD it will lock up...

I gave up on mine. I bought a Sony Blue ray. (I have inverter power next to the TV so power is not an issue)

I now just use the blue ray and I have much better picture quality and only need 1 remote to operate. 69 bucks vs a whole lot more for a piece of junk Jensen.

Does your radio use a RF remote, or is it IR? If it is RF, it could be picking up signals from something else in or near your camper.

Yup, a couple weeks ago the DW came in from the rig and said "I turned the radio off for your". I had it on while I was working on the rig

A couple days later I'm out there and the radio is on. So I checked and the alarm function was on.
It's a Jensen and the Alarm on/off switch is lower down, and easier to reach, then the power on/off

It happens

If it is used little, disconnect it and don't use at all! I now have a $20 home (AC) DVD player for rare movies during rainy times and a $60 portable Bluetooth speaker for music from phone. Way better than what came with my TT.

Have had similar problem with mine coming on by itself. It could be your neighbor changing channels on their tv because when we switch to channel 3 it turns on the radio for some unknown reason. Must have a haint

Since we are talking about a Jensen stereo, I have a question concerning the setup with a tailgater satellite. I like to listen to the music that dish offers. How can I get that to run through the trailer speakers via the Jensen stereo? I'm guessing that maybe it would work if I have it wired as if I'm going to watch a dvd and the coax from outside going directly to the receiver and an HDMI going from the receiver to the tv? Thanks for your help. Mark

PS: I had the alarm radio going on at all hours. I couldn't figure out what was going on until I called my dealer.
