Yup--had that happen to us near Fort St John, in northern B.C. Cord plug had disconnected and fallen into bed of truck. At the time we were on some very rough roads. Cord slid to back of the bed only held there by the plug being caught in the gate. The cord had been dragging on the road and gone through 3 of the wires insulation. I cut through all of the wires--spliced them back together--wrapped them separately with electric tape-wrapped everything with duct tape and than duck tapped the excess wire in the bed of the truck and plugged the cord into the rear bumper hitch plug. Than it started to rain so got a plastic bag-wrapped it around the cord spliced ends and tapped both sides closed.
It worked-made it home to Calif. like that--bought a new cord and installed it and has been good to go since. Lars
