Just brought home a 2022 F-150 STX with the 2.7 Ecoboost. It will be a little while before I will be towing with it but I'm excited to see how it does. My camper is around 4000 loaded so weight is not going be an issue. I can't believe all the tech stuff it has. I would be interested if anyone has any experience with this engine or truck.By the way this is my very first NEW vehicle!!

A hunting buddy is a long time EcoBoost fan. He started with a new 3.5, then traded for the 2.7 F150. He actually prefers the 2.7, and just traded recently for another 2.7 22 model.I drove both of his earlier 150s, but not the new one yet. The only trailer he tows, is a double PWC trailer, so light wt. The 2.7 10-speed gets good mileage, but he is a hard/fast driver, so he doesn't like giving out numbers, that could be much better.Congrats on your first new purchase! Congrats, OP. The new F-150 is a beautiful truck; I'm sure you'll be very happy with it! It would certainly be my pick if I was in the market for a 1/2 ton.

Congratulations on the new ride. I have the 2020 Lariat with the 3.5 ecoboost and tow an 8K lb trailer without issue. Very comfortable ride with and without the trailer. You’ll love it. Enjoy!!

My brother has a similar 2017 model with the 2.7 and loves it. Fuel economy is great. Pulls up to 7,000lbs with no trouble.

I have two models with the 3.5 and the 2.7 seems to have nearly as much power with significantly better fuel economy.

It will run just fine on 87 Octane, no need for premium.

I have found that if you want an expert on the troubles with these engines you have to find someone that doesn't own one. The owners seem to be blissfully ignorant of the myriad issues the non-owners report.

MFL thanks for the help with picture stuff. You are absolutely right about not being Pops old 150. I had a 1988 and a 2003 150 in the past and this thing is like a spaceship compared to them. It rides so smooth and the 10 speed transmission is seamless. As far as the price goes....yeah it's more than I've ever spent but it is not cheap to repair aging vehicles anymore.

That is a great lookin truck! My buddies similar truck appears black, but in the sun, is actually a deep shade of blue.

Not your fathers old F150. These new ones are unreal with advancements! They also have the fancy improved price. Should give you many miles/years of good service, and a fun ride too!
