My new Wolf Creek 840 Modifications

I guess I should share some of my mod ideas here.

2015 Wolf Creek 840.
problem was with the mid bathroom and Refreg I really can't find a way to mount the TV so I can view it from the dinette. So I did something different, Besides, who wants to lay in bed to watch TV?

Here is a picture of it folded up.

Here is the wiring.

The TV only weighs 8 lbs so I hope this will hold it. I might change the top of the mount to a plate if I feel I need it.

I ran 2 new coax cables from the TV area to the DS forward cabinet where the TV antenna jack is. if you pull the jack out of the cabinet there is open connectors for TV2 and TV3. I wired TV2 up direct to the TV. the other cable i remove the SAT cable on back of jack and used a barrel connector to connect to that.
I also ran 12V for the TV and HDMI cable for the satellite receiver through the wire loom. I will place the sat receiver in the top cabinet over the sink (still need to run AC for that).

Here is the mount I used. you have to cut around 1" off the bottom of the extruded arm to make the 19" TV fit under the cabinet in the 840.

The wiring runs through the cabinet as shown above, than goes through the 2 layers below the cabinets and comes out right next to the TV mount.

So now I have TV when running on batteries, and if I want to turn on an inverter (or on 120 V) I will have satellite TV.
I plan to buy a radio that has blue tooth input (so wife can play her itunes on it) and AUX inputs in the rear so I can send the satellite receiver output to it (we listen to siruis on Dish a lot).

  • When we first got the 840 it was winterized. We filled up the system, turned on the pump, then went to bleed air out of the system in the kitchen sink and with a burst of air the end of the faucet blew off. Water and air blew out and the water went all over the PS wall and seat. I know sometimes things go wrong, that is why they have warranties. I tried to install the end but it was useless so I put duct tape on it until I could call the dealer.

anyway, long story short after a call to dealer I think a couple of these had this same problem. Dealer sent me one but original is wedge shaped base and replacement was flat, RS handle hit wall.
So a quick trip to home depot we found a Delta faucet that needed 3 holes where the factory is only 2 holes.. no problem, hole saw and a couple minutes and now I got 3 holes.

for $69.00 this looks like it could have come with camper.
It's not as high as factory faucet but we don't have room to carry a pot big enough to need that high faucet anyway. This will be just fine.

7x14.... I want the same size.
  • today I installed the Bogart 2030-RV with 500A shunt. Works nice, but now I see on board charger seems to run at 13.7, which according to my battery documents is low for charging an AGM that is being cycled.

Than I hooked up my trailer to it for the first time to see how the hitch height worked out with the additional weight of the truck camper.
The camera is not crooked, the truck is going up a hill.

Lots of people read while on the pot, so my bet there are a lot of people that watch TV there also. I think it could be a bad idea to read while on the pot every time you go. You could be driving down the highway, and read the highway signs and not thinking where you were and make a mess in your undershorts.

Nise TV install towpro. Sometimes I wish I would have used a drop down swivel mount. I used parts of two arms, allowing me to swing behind my fridge to watch while in bed, or swing the TC in front of the fridge to watch at the dining table. Actually, because the TV faces the door, I could watch while sitting on the pot of my rear bath.

  • Interesting as I was wondering just how to watch from the dining area seats without a telescope... Wasn't sure just where to put it...

While I don't have the TC yet, that doesn't stop me from trying to "hassle out" problems that aren't really there, LOL...
    I'm good at that..

    Nice, thanks for sharing..
