My pinging Cummins
I’ve always heard this pinging sound (sounds just like a gasser timing issue) from my 06 5.9L Cummins when under load towing. Usually it does it just cruising on level highway at about 1600-1700 RPM....

Its mostly common noise but I always run a product called Stanadyne for the injectors, works great and actually improves mileage and clears up the black smoke. Best product I have found for keeping the injectors clean.
