Some of my best camping years back in the 60s-70s was in the Phoenix - North areas running with my Trusty ole jeep pulling a utility trailer loaded down with all our tent camping gear. Can go anywhere the Jeep will take us and is very low budget...
With all of the modern low power items in todays market three room tent camping is a hugh success for us. We still do it on occasions... Watch HDTV in our tent everynight haha... Sometimes we would run into a tent setup with an 5000BTU air conditioner sticking out of a tent back door sitting on a pallet on the ground haha...

This is about the way it looked back in the day in this google on-line photo I recently found... These guys were in the same area of Sedona and Jerome AZ...
