I doubt very much that someone would loan you their PP or Hensley hitch to try. It is quite involved to install and or remove completely.

As mentioned earlier, take a long look at this thread which explains, in detail, how to set up your hitch properly. That, along with a trip to the scales should get you going and probably solve most of your problems. :)
