Oh, I would also like to clear some things up.
I measured a friend truck with smaller tires, and no leveling kit on his 2004 dodge 4x4, and the inside top edge was 23", the same as mine. He has smaller tires and the truck has a rake to the back, mine has larger tires and sits level.
I measured my dads Ford excab long bed 4x4 F250 and the inside top edge was 17", I measured my father in law 2x4 crew cab long bed F350 and his was also 17", and both had the same stock size tires.
SO I want to make sure everyone understands I DO NOT HAVE A SUBSTANCIALLY HIGHER CENTER OF GRAVITY THAN ANY OTHER 4x4 DODGE RAM, at most it's 1 inch higher. I DO NOT HAVE A LIFT, especially 5 inches of lift.
My point is that the makes of the trucks just have a different hitch level.
I could have measured a chevy, but those are not real trucks, so didn't bother. :)
Thanks,
Joe Zeppe
