1) You need a better hitch..The Eaz-Lifts are OK but when you notice sway/stability issues it's time to upgrade there too.
2)You DO NOT need a HA or PP hitch, they're just too expensive and you don't need it..
3)You need a hitch with higher rated weight distribution bars..4) Get yourself a Reese Strait-line WD hitch w/ dual cam sway control, with a 29' TT you're pushing the limits of the friction sway bars.
4)I'm running the Firestone ride rites and love them. When I first installed them (we upgraded our TT to a bigger unit as well, 2014 Salem 29ud3..38' long), what a white knuckle ride that was. But after resetting the WD hitch it's a sweet ride now.
Understood, and I was looking at other, as a good friend of mine has a 29ft toy hauler with the dual cam hitch. They bought that because they were having issues too. He said that it helped over the friction bars, but he feels as though it could be better. He's wife said he is secretly looking for more info on the PP/HA too.
The thing about the PP/HA that seems important to me is that it does not matter that I only have 8% TW when loaded up. I don't think any other WDH can say that.
I also like my Firestones, but the way it seems that we found the best weight distribution was not to have the bags inflated. And it did ride worse with the bars set this current way. When I tow my fathers dump trailer with too much weight and too much TW, the truck handles it really well, and even better with the air bags. The dump trailer is another reason I want to upgrade my receiver for a higher non WD tongue/tow rating.
My head hurts.
