Always, and I mean ALWAYS, back in when YOU "control" the street. By pulling in forward (assuming you can't turn around in your residential driveway) you now have to back out into traffic. Most idiots pay no attention to a backing trailer, and your visibility will be hampered by the trailer.
Plus, that skinny drive is not going to give you as much room to manuever the truck as the average width of a street will. Gonna make it a bear to back out?!
By the way--- our trailer is only a 19 footer, but the RAM has an eight foot bed. The driveway is roughly 10' wide with a telephone pole on one end, and a wall on the other end. Typical residential neigborhood street (maybe 20ish feet).I have to thread the needle going in, worry about the overhang swing into the pole on the way out. Good thing my wife married a professional.
Practice, practice, practice.
