Might be a wash but I would be inclined to pull it in and back it out.
Consider what side you want the door on while parked.
I would never, ever consider backing into my driveway where the dog is smart enough to get out of the way, a WASH with backing onto a public street where you can not control the traffic or some brat (I mean sweet child of God) on a big wheel.
When you back in "off the street", you control the street and others are required to give you space (not that they always will). Backing "onto" a public street requires you to have spotters stop the traffic for you.
It is about CONTROL...I do this for a living. When I enter a lot I can not turn around in. I always back OFF the street, because I never want to back "ONTO" a busy street.
Really gripes me to no end when I see someone BACKING out of a driveway onto a busy street or road.
The driver backing out is BLIND to any and all traffic and is totally depending on traffic to YIELD and stop.. That is all well and good provided the DRIVERS of the OTHER vehicles notice and yield in a timely fashion.. If they fail to see in time it is all over.. This will be magnified even worse with a trailer being backed out..
I ALWAYS make it a point to AVOID ever backing out onto a public street or road..
I have only backed out onto a road ONCE in 30 plus years of driving and that was recently after a snow storm dumped 8 inches of snow onto a driveway which already had 4 inches of snow and turning around without getting stuck was not an option..
Backing your trailer in is your better option if possible to do, you can cut far sharper turns by backing in.. However you may still need to widen out the beginning of your driveway to help speed up the process and prevent you from creating a muddy mess every time you enter or exit your driveway. Depending on your neighborhood and or HOA it may be as simple as laying down a few cement pavers or you may need full blown poured cement extensions..
