OP - was in your shoes the first time I brought my TT home - except I don't have a long bed. I put in a 60 X 10 foot wide slab on the left side of the house. My property is off grade so there is about a six - 7 inch drop off opposite of the house. I put nice bushes along the part that was more level where it joined to the existing driveway. Well, it took me over two hours to get the TT parked and I destroyed the bushes.
My solution was to widen the slab by 6 feet. Now, I know exactly where the tires must roll to get it backed in and I've become quite an expert at putting it in in one shot.
So yes - make it wider by whatever means you have and you should be an expert in no time. Good luck!
