You have to go over the camper with a fine toothed comb. Remove every panel and device possible to see what's behind it. (I found a pair of pliers behind a tail light when I removed it.)
An examination of that nature is invasive. But it reveals how well a manufacturer does their job.

Nothing on Lance issues, but have had an 05 AF and now an 03 AF and honestly have had next to no issues with either one.
I was not brand loyal at all when buying our first camper. Simply wanted best price for a short bed capable camper with a slide and ended up with a decent deal on an 05 860 model.
Used it quite a bit for a year and then left it (sold it) in AK before moving back to the L48. My experience with the first one is what swayed my purchase of the 03.

The Arctic Fox is probably the best built camper of those that you've mentioned. I have a 2014 Lance and would never consider them again due to more recent quality control issues.
I had and Arctic Fox 1140 and it was the best built camper of all, had the most storage and was also the heaviest.

Always got to put it out there because not many people think about this brand...have you looked into NorthSTAR 12' STC? Side entrance, no slide, dry bath, no basement.

You should add Eagle Cap and Host models to your dry bath research.

Biggest thing that draws us to the Lance is local sales, side entry, extra seating. Nearest AF 11xx models are a good days drive away. We are considering a road trip.

We looked at a used 1140 dry bath at a local dealer last year. Liked the layout and did note that the bath was usable with the slide in.
