Although the Sequoia is a very nice vehicle and is a great tow vehicle, it won't meet your needs to tow an 8k trailer while carrying 8 passengers. It has the room and the power but is lacking the payload to carry the weight.
Depending on the model and options you are looking at less than 1300lbs of payload in the Sequoia. At least 1k of that will be eaten up by the tt tongue weight, leaving little left for any passengers. You really need a 3/4 ton based vehicle at minimum with at least 2k lbs of available payload.
