Need a Sway bar

We put on a Helwig Bigwig.

Also Torklift Stable Loads to fill any gap between the rear bump stop and the top of the helper spring.

Both modifications helped, when cornering with the added swaybar the truck does not lean, with the stable loads it will not squat as much and also the rocking from side to side is greatly improved.

Hopefully you are close to the border and can make a trip to purchase from down there as prices here are crazy for this stuff...

Both are quite easy to install, few simple tools and some ranting.

You might want to fill it with all your stuff, plus water, propane etc
, weigh the whole outfit and check your tire load ratings, if you are
good with the weight on the BFG's the above mods will give you a really good ride. Our camper is about the same size on our Dodge 3500.

Empty ride will be harsh on bumps, when camper is off for a long time I take out the Stable loads, this will eliminate the helpers..

Hellwig Big Wig or Roadmaster sway bars would be at top of my list.

What kind of tie downs? Is any of the sway from them?
Check your tires for air pressure.
Trac bar at Henderson Lineup. These people have been around RVs for many years. You may call them for good advise.

I agree with getting sway bar and Stable loads but the 1st thing is to be sure the tires are fully inflated.

Definitely add the sway bar (silly Dodge for not offering one from the factory.) You may also want to consider upgrading away from factory shocks too.

I have the same truck as you and added home made top and bottom "stable loads" to engage the spring packs sooner and more consistently. With a well stocked TC these suspension improvements make my truck ride level with excellent handling.

Do also check to make sure your tiedowns are as tight as they should be. Also, up the tire pressure and check to make sure they are at least E rated tires.

Still a sway bar won't hurt.

The shocks were changed over to KYBs in Arizona this February, Auto Zone didn't have any Bilsteins and were back ordered. The specs were the same, 1 3/8 " piston, so I went with the KYBs. Not impressed. Too nice.

The tie downs are frame mounted, chain and turn buckle , A lesson I learned in '75.

That is a good idea about engaging the overloads, my load might have been too light. These 1tons ride better than some 1/2tons.

Many people have to adjust to the sway of a truck with a camper. With everything we add to reduce sway, the fact is you cannot eliminate all sway. My experience has been that the driver adjust much more quickly than passengers. If you have not done so, I suggest you be more attentive to the circumstances when there are the most sway. Go slower, and the odds are your passenger will adjust.

The best (not cheapest) rear anti-sway bar for your Dodge is the RoadMaster.. I think that they're currently on sale at Camping World.
I also suggest that you roll over a truck scale and get the weight on the rear axle to make sure that your tire pressure is correctly set.
