Thank you for the personal experience info. I do appreciate it. The two differences between your truck and mine are going to be the rear end gear ratio and the trans. Since my truck gets 6 MPG better then your empty, I am going to assume that your truck came with the lower gear ration rear end. My trans id a 5 speed (4 with Overdrive) and yours is a straight 4 (according what you said).
Mine rear end gears are indeed better built for towing. My trans is 4 speed with #4 being overdrive. Like the other poster said, they didn't make a 5 speed auto for these trucks.
Either way, I have to agree with what has already been said. Get the brake controller and start with that. A trans temp gauge would be nice, but not entirely necessary. If you're having problems, get the cooler. If you're still having problems, change the gears. I have a feeling that your TT is light enough that you won't have any issues.
