Anybody have any experience with aftermarket chips
I don't have any experience with chips for gas engines like ours, but I do know a fair amount about the ones for diesels. I would imagine that the same basic rules apply. A chip can make a huge positive difference, or it can spell the end of days for your truck. The idea is to get one that's custom-tuned to your truck and your needs, not just some generic off-the-shelf chip. I looked at a few of the more popular diesel chip tuners, but they don't offer anything for gas. Spend some time and plan on doling out $200 to $300 for a good one. If they don't ask you what your gear ratio is, then you don't want their stuff.
