So correct...analysis is good but there needs to be a good enough and then take action!!!
In the OP's case I would get the transmission temp monitored and get a good brake controller. Then I would just pull the trailer and see if I was satisfied with the performance before I did anything else.

Yeah. That is what my plan is, but if it does not cost a lot to get a larger trans cooler I will do that too (it can't hurt anything).
Now I am looking at some towing mirrors. My mirrors are not far enough out and I have a huge blind stop that makes me real nervous. There is a set of extenters that slide over the existing one on Amazon for $40. Anyone ever used these kind?
