I went from a 1/2 ton to a one ton so it's not the same as a 3/4 ton but I would say that the 3/4 is a whole lot closer to the one ton than it is to the 1/2 ton. Years ago I had an camper on a Ford 150 and it was pretty much white knuckle. Put it on an F250 and it was night and day.
I had a 2013 Silverado 1/2 ton with 5.3 pulling a 5000 lb loaded TT and a fiberglass cap with the bed pretty well loaded and it was the max I would do with the truck. It wasn't bad to drive but again, the TT was 5,000.
I got in my sons Dodge long bed 3/4 diesel pulling a 5,800 lb TT and it was not even noticeable. No need for an equalizer either.
