I'm thinking you made the right decision, to just keep what you have for now. The 6.4 with 3.73, would be a nice platform, but with the extra weight of the 3/4 ton, the performance gain you are looking for, is just not enough to justify the cost.
Now the CBR1000 will keep up, in the mountains, in the wind, whatever! Just be aware that your arms will get longer over time, from twisting the rubber handle!
