With how close the 5.7L on the 1500 is to the 6.4L horsepower and to torque, the fact that his 1500 has an 8 speed versus the 6 speed in the 2500, and the fact that his 1500 weighs a lot less than a 2500 then I can see this outcome. The torque multiplication from the 8 speeds shorter low gears would have given him more torque than that 6.4L with its 6 speed. The only benefits of the 2500 would be the better load handling and longevity of the truck which was not his complaint. Performance was.
