Need advice on reducing trailer bounce!

I just picked up our new flagstaff micro mini trailer and towed it from CA to AZ. I have installed a Anderson WDH Hitch and it tows pretty well but I still feel like there is a little bounce on certain road conditions. Is this normal or should I consider air bags or other equipment to stiffen the rear end of my 2018 RWD F150. The tongue wt is around 550lbs.

  • Airstream has them on torsion axles. You have to weld a small plate onto the arm.

Don't think that's an option, I think those have Dexter Torflex axles.

  • Or what troubledwaters said. May just need some tweaking with the tension.
  • On certain concrete highways, I’ll get an up and down motion (porpoising). The urethane bushings are supposed to ease any of those motions. On a fairly decent asphalt road, mine is mostly nice and smooth, but will still feel every imperfection in the road as a bump, not a bounce.
Have you tried backing off the chain tension?

I would say it's probably normal.
